The awesome burger

I discovered my way of making a burger that's simple and awesomely juicy and tasty.

Ingredients;

1. Ground beef: 2 pounds
2. Onion: 1
3. Garlic: 4-5 cloves
4. Green onion: 3-5
5. Soy sauce:2-3 tbs
6. Oyster sauce:  1 tbs
7. Sugar: 1 tsp
8. Ground peppers: 1 tsp
9. Eggplant or pottabello mushroom
10. Mozzarella cheeses
11. Burger bread or buns

How to;

1. Use a blender to blend onion and garlic.  The blender makes the juices come out of onion, and when I mix it with the beef, it makes the paddies juicy.

2. Mix the ingredients 1 to 8 together well. Give it a good massage.

3. Cut the stem of a portabello mushroom. Cut or slice an eggplant to thin slice,  then fry in the pan with hot oil, add a bit of water then cover it. Egg plant will be soft when it's cooked.

4. Cook the paddies , when it's cooked, put a slice of cheese on top of the paddies, then cover the pan for the cheese to melt.

5. Toast the bread or bun, put butter and Mayo on both sides.

8. Then make Burger: bun, eggplant or portabello mushroom,  beef paddy, and bread.

9. Have it with salad and steamed yam.

Yummy. And awesome!!

My very own kimchi

Kimchi

Very good for you! It has natural bacteria that's good for your stomach, like yoghurt except no diary.

Ingredients;

1. Napa cabbage about 2-3 pounds
2. Ginger roots: grated 2-3 tbs
3. Green onion: chop 1 inch long half cup
4. Carrots: grated half a cup
5. Garlic: grated 2-3 tbs
6. Chili powder for making kimchi: 1/3 cup
7. Fish sauce :1/4 cup
8. Asian pear: grated finely, use it to substitute sugar/and add freshness : 2 pears
9. Salt: about 1/2 cup for soaking in the cabbage

How to;

1. Cut the cabbage into about 1 inch long.
2. Mix the salt well then add water to cover the cabbage.
3. Soak it for 4-5 hours or over night.
4. Then rinse the cabbage 2-3 times. Let it drain well.
5. Mix the ingredients from 2-8 in separate bowl.
6. And mix the cabbage and the mix sauce together.
7. Put in a jar with tight lid and leave it at room temperature for 4-5 days. After it  can keep in the fridge for as long as a month. Old kimchi is best to make it into soup.

It's good to eat as a side dish, or make it into pancakes or soup.

Yum yum in my tum tum!!!

Thai saurkraut

Hi there!
Seth and I have been enjoying homemade cabbage pickle. It has natural good bacteria for your body similar to yoghurt except no diary. Good stuff!
And it's Thai. Because ... made by a Thai person!
Here is how I make it:
What you need;
1. Cabbage:  choose the heavy one, the kind of cabbage that is like a big white round flat shape. It made the best saurkraut in my humble opinion. Weight around 2-3 pounds.
2. Salt:  2-3 tbs
3. Good container with tight lid.
How to:
1. Chop cabbage finely.
2. Then mix well with the salt, give it a good massage.
3. Pack the cabbage in the container,  I pack and push it down well .Close the lid.
4. Let it sit for at least a week. Then when you open the lid,  you will hear a hiss as air escapes, and you will smell the sour smell.
We like to eat our pickled cabbage with anything. With rice and curry, or cook it with sausages. Yummm...
Food is yummy!  And also good for you!!

thai steam chicken and not so thai olive salad

Hi there!

Tonight I was inspired  to make a Thai steamed chicken: a dish that my mom cooked for us back home. It's very healthy and yummy!

Thai steamed chicken:

ingredients:

  • chicken : half of a chicken or breast part or thighs (best with bones)
  • lemongrass :2 stalks: cut into slices
  • shallots: 2 bulbs: chop into small cubes
  • garlic: 4-5 cloves
  • galangal (thai ginger): 1 tbs: cut into small slices
  • a pinch of salt
  • lime leaves : 4-5 leaves
  • fish sauce: 1 tbs
  • soy sauce: 2 tbs
  • oyster sauce: 1 tbs
  • sugar: 1 tbs
cilantro: optional

how to:

1. Chop chicken into bite size pieces.

2.  Grind up ingredients #2-5 in a mortar & pestle or food processor until mixed well together.

3. put the ground up ingredients in to already cut up chicken bowl.

4. tear lime leaves into smaller pieces, also to bring more natural oil and aroma.

5. put the rest of all the ingredients into a bowl  then mix them well.

6. put in a baking tray and cover with tin foil and bake it at 375 degree F for 45 minutes.

7. then you will smell something really yummy and before serving put chopped cilantro on top if you have it.

serve it with steamed rice, steamed vegetables and olive salad

Olive Salad

Ingredients:

  • green olives: half a cup
  • olive oil: 1 tbs
  • cherry tomatoes: half a cup
  • pickle garlic
  • cilantro
  • ground pepper: 1 tsp
How to: easy! mix everything together and put chopped cilantro on top.

My mom always told me to eat something sour or vinaigrette to help me digest. I made this salad to go with Thai steamed chicken. It goes really well together.

 Food is yummy!!

Tu blogs about food!

Hi there!

Since I love food so much, Seth encouraged me to share my cooking with friends and family. We got the name "Food is yummy" from a conversation in the car during Jessica's visit. Seth and Jessica were talking about alternative diets which sometimes don't taste very good, so then i said I like 'food is yummy' diet.

Almost every week I crave many foods so I look for recipes online, try them and modify them to my tongue style. If it's successful I will blog about it here!

Food is yummy!!
